It is important to understand the filtering efficiency differences between media and mask design. The goal of this study was to evaluate the filtration efficiency of a double strap tie-on surgical mask. The specific aims were to measure the collection of efficiencies of Cobeal's surgical mask for various particle sizes. Two tests were performed. In the first, the mask was not sealed. In the second, the mask was sealed, so all penetration was through the filtering material. Differences in upstream and downstream particle concentrations were measured. Thus, penetration by leakage around the mask and through the filtering material was measured. Cobeal's surgical masks are not designed to protect health care workers from airborne particulates and will not provide as much protection as Cobeal's N95 respirators.Post is under moderationStream item published successfully.
