Nevada Technology Corridor Infrastructure & Prosperity Caucus: Connecting Western Nevada for Economic Recovery and Resiliency Webinar was held February 5, 2021
The COVID-19 pandemic amplified the lack of critical infrastructure and north-south connectivity hindering economic stability and essential services, particularly for Western Nevada. NNDA, Adams Hub, and Porter Group hosted the webinar attended by key stakeholders, the first of a series of meetings regarding how the Nevada Technology Corridor can strategically transform the infrastructure of Nevada's missing middle for economic recovery and resiliency. An important goal was to identify the needs for the Nevada Technology Corridor and share that information with the Nevada Congressional delegation.
During the webinar, a panel of distinguished business leaders and government officials addressed:
> Infrastructure – Essential Economic Building Blocks: state priorities and federal opportunities
> Workforce – Key to Economic Growth and Resiliency: building the Nevada workforce pipeline
> COVID-19 Solutions – Keeping Nevada Open for Business: clean air, safe environments, and personal protection
An overview of the Nevada Technology Corridor was provided, explaining how the infrastructure plan for this 400-mile stretch of Western Nevada can be as a key stimulator for economic recovery. How Nevada's community colleges are the "First Responders" for rebooting the state's economy was discussed. Finally, information was shared about innovative COVID-19 solutions to help keep businesses open and essential services thriving while effectively protecting employees, patients, students, customers, visitors, vendors, etc.
